I really could benefit from a detoxification. It has been several years since I followed a detox protocol. I have easily justified avoiding a detox by simply telling myself that my toxic exposure level is low – I am an environmentalist homeopath after all. Occasionally I will throw in the “I am really busy” justification. In reality the real reason is that I love cheese and wine and chocolate and scotch and pasta…oh my I think I really need this!
Where I am at right now: my yoga practice is down; my meditation is almost non-existent; the last time I swam was in fresh water (its November!); my wine & whiskey consumption is up; and, my food choices are veering heavily to cheese laden carbs – who doesn’t love grilled cheese for breakfast? Maybe not so surprisingly my choices are starting to starting to show in my skin (pimples); and, my belly has had happier days.
So this is day 1 of a 2 week detox protocol. So far so good.
I will be periodically posting my progress and sharing recipes and ideas as I go. Wish me luck.
