What to Expect During Your Appointment
I am going to ask a lot of questions.
Most of us are used to spending less than 20 minutes per visit with our GPs even for our most complex health issues – some of us only see our GPs for as little as 8 minutes per visit. Homeopathy is different.
Your initial consulation for either ongoing conditions or improving your general health will last approximately 2 hours. Follow-up appointments are approximately 30 minutes long. An appointment for an uncomplicated acute condition (cold, flu, infection, etc.) averages 20 minutes.
Why does an appointment take so long?
In order to effectively treat you I need to know what you are experiencing. Not just related to your main complaint but in your whole being. As anyone can tell you, stomach flu does not only affect your stomach.
I want to know how your experience of illness has uniquely affected you. I need the details. I want to know: when your complaints began; did something trigger your symptoms; what it feels like for you; what makes it better; what makes it worse; what are the sensations you experience (‘it feels like…’); etc. I also want to know about your basic functioning - digestion, appetite, thirst, sleep, body temperature, etc.
What if I don't live in Toronto?
No problem - I work with patients all over the world. Admittedly it is not as ideal as seeing someone in person, but it can be done.
