August is a month of trips and travel. For most of us that is a great thing, but for those of us that experience motion sickness trips and travel are something to be endured. Homeopathy will help you and your loved ones arrive at your destination with a smile on your face...If only I had known about homeopathy years ago I could have saved a childhood friend from what turned out to be a ghastly weekend sailing with my family! Sorry Susan.

There are lots and lots of homeopathic medicines that can be used to treat motion sickness - there will be one that is particularly suited to your brand of travel induced nausea, headache, anxiety, etc.. I have indicated some of the most common ones below,  if don't find one that works for you from the list below don't despair - just contact me and we will find the one that works for you. In no time you will be able to breeze out of a car/boat/plane like a seasoned international jet setter - looking and feeling fabulous!

Contact me
Cocculus - for motion sickness with nausea & vertigo.  This is most commonly indicated motion sickness remedy. This remedy is especially indicated if even watching moving objects results in nausea & dizziness. Take 1-2 pellets a few hours before you set off and then take 1-2 pellets of 30c as needed, and after every bout of vomiting. Maximum of 6 doses a day.

Belladonna - for nausea with ear aches and/or headaches and/or sinus pain. This is great for people who dread the pressure changes on air planes. Take one 30c or 200c pellet 6-8 hours before you travel and then 1 additional pellet as you set off. you can re-dose during the trip if you need to.

Borax - is great for fear and anxiety accompanied by a sinking feeling in the stomach. Take one 30c pellet 6-8 hours before you travel and then 1 additional pellet as you set off. If you have extreme fear and anxiety you can take 1 pellet of 200c once daily for 3 days leading up to the trip. You can re-dose during the trip if you need to.

Gelsemium -  to deal with feelings of panic & anxiety related to travel - often resulting in a queasy feeling. Had I known at the time this remedy would have been perfect for my step daughter - who is prone to motion sickness - and would often complain of a queasy stomach as we were loading the car to go on a road trip! I suggest taking one 30c pellet 24 hours before the trip and then one additional pellet as you set off. If you have extreme anxiety and motion sickness you can take 1 pellet of 200c once daily for 7 days leading up to the trip. You can re-dose during the trip if you need to.

Nux Vomica – for nausea and vomiting  with painful cramps and/or gagging. This remedy is especially useful if there have been overindulgences (e.g. hangover) preceding the motion sickness. Take 1-2 pellets a few hours before you set off and then take 1-2 pellets of 30c as needed, and after every bout of vomiting. Maximum of 6 doses a day.

Tabacum - for the classic deathly nausea & vomiting & cold sweating with a pale greenish pallor associated with motion sickness. Often there is amelioration from fresh air. Take 1-2 pellets a few hours before you set off and then take 1-2 pellets of 30c as needed, and after every bout of vomiting. Maximum of 6 doses a day.

Wishing you happy, safe & nausea free travels.
